In this week’s “Ask the Attorney” segment on WSFA’s “Alabama Live!” program, Beasley Allen attorney Gibson Vance answers questions from several callers regarding their legal problems. The first caller spoke to Gibson about an outpatient neck surgery occurring at least two years ago that resulted in part of his skin becoming permanently bleached. Gibson advised the caller to seek an attorney, but also ensure that his claim is filed in at least two years from the incident occurring to avoid issues with the state’s statute of limitations. Another caller, a woman from Montgomery, asks Gibson about how to retrieve funds stolen in an online mystery shopper scam. Gibson tells her to set up a meeting with the state’s district attorney to report the crime and attempt to get a judgment in district court. The last caller told Gibson about a friend’s trailer he allowed on his property, but has since been abandoned. Gibson explained to the caller that because he owns the property, he can have the people evicted at any point by going to the local courthouse and filing the appropriate paperwork.
