EXCLUSIVE Fukushima: USS REAGAN v. TEPCO (Nuclear Hotseat #272)

EXCLUSIVE! USS Reagan vs. TEPCO Hearing – Attorneys, Survivors and John Edwards )Nuclear Hotseat #272) http://tinyurl.com/zwxkuhm
This Week’s EXCLUSIVE Interviews begin approx 8:00 into video:
Nuclear Hotseat Producer/Host Libbe HaLevy attended the US 9th District Court Hearing on USS Reagan Sailors v. Tokyo Electric Power Company. The sailors were on an humanitarian aid mission to Japan following the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, which caused the Fukushima Daiichi triple meltdowns. TEPCO never informed the US Navy of the dangerous release of radioactivity from the crippled nuclear reactors and as a result, the sailors were exposed to catastrophic levels of radiation.

At stake is whether the sailors’ case will be allowed to be tried in United States courts. TEPCO wants this case tried in Japan, which would effectively make it impossible for our sailors – many of whom are in failing health and would have to interrupt their medical treatments, fly to Japan, and fly out their own experts. The trip would be cost-prohibitive and forcing the trial to take place there would effectively end the lawsuit. That’s what TEPCO and its attorneys are counting on.

David v. Goliath? Count on it!

Hear excepts from the testimony and exclusive interviews with:
Attorneys for the sailors Charles Bonner and Paul C. Carlson Garner

Sailors from the USS Reagan during Operation Tomadachi: William Zeller, Chad Holt and Chris Shamrell.

EXCLUSIVE BOMBSHELL: Former US Senator and Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards, who reveals a bombshell: why he flew out to attend this hearing and is so public in his support for the sailors.

Forced to Masturbate for College Class? – 844-292-1318 North Dakota legal aid

Masturbation… now on your college syllabus. Students were forced to masturbate, write detailed sexual fantasy journals, and reveal details about their sexual past, homosexual experimentation, and other graphic sexual details for their Human Sexuality course, according to a lawsuit. John Iadarola and Ana Kasparian debate whether this lawsuit has merit, on TYT University.

Is this Human Sexuality professor guilty? Or should they let him go? Are any of these requirements acceptable? Are any over the line? Would you have taken a course like this in college? Let us know!

Native Americans continue to protest in North Dakota despite a court order halting work on a pipeline through their land. That’s because the ruling only temporarily halts construction on the 3.8 billion dollar project that threatens drinking-water supplies as Andre-Pierre du Plessis reports.

TRT World’s business programme looks at the financial news that affects ordinary people. Matthew Moore presents ‘Money Talks’ from TRT World’s studios in Istanbul. From Wall Street to Main Street ‘Money Talks’ helps the 99% navigate their changing financial world.

Climate Direct Action: Activists Halt Flow of Tar Sands Oil by Shutting Off Valves of Five Pipelines – 844-292-1318 North Dakota legal aid

http://democracynow.org – Ten climate activists were arrested Tuesday for attempting to shut down all tar sands oil coming into the United States from Canada by manually turning off pipelines in Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and Washington state. The group, which calls itself Climate Direct Action, includes five activists and five other supporters and videographers. They posted pictures and videos online that showed them cutting chains and turning the manual safety valves to stop the flow through the pipelines. The activists issued a statement on Tuesday saying the action was in support of the call for International Days of Prayer and Action for Standing Rock. They also called on President Obama to “use emergency powers to keep the pipelines closed and mobilize for the extraordinary shift away from fossil fuels now required to avert catastrophe.” While all 10 activists remain in jail, we speak Jay O’Hara, co-founder of the Climate Disobedience Center, and Afrin Sopariwala, a member of Climate Direct Action and a part of Women of Color Speak Out, a climate justice collective.
