REAL Emergency First Aid Treatment: Broken Leg While Dirt Biking o#o – 844-292-1318 Utah legal aid

Crashes at 1:10 and 2:15. While riding Dual Sport Motorcycles in the Utah desert, my friend Travis had a common low-speed fall that broke his leg in three places. I discuss emergency treatment, EDC emergency kits, what we had, and what we could have done in hindsight to make this emergency situation a little easier on Travis. Here’s his GoFundMe:

When this situation happens to you, don’t risk it. Ride with friends, wear good boots with crush protection and armor, have a first aid kit, paracord, duct tape, bandages, and pain killers– and whether riding alone or in a group, a Personal Locator Beacon is a good idea. To save some money and get the most use from it, split the cost of this highly rated ACR PLB between members of your riding group:

  1. I have broke my anckle so many times riding at a speed of 45 miles per hour that is how strong a bike it so actually really actually wear a pads I also broken my call or bone twice

  2. The only times I've been injured while riding thankfully was with these simple accidents. great video. get well travis!

  3. Yeesh, I fell alone the other day – didn't realize how big of a risk it really was. Just turned the klr off, got up, bent my front brake lever back into place and rode off.

  4. Great informational video. I'm new to riding in general (some dirtbike background) and adventure riding in particular. Your videos have been a great informational source for me, and I wanted to tell you I appreciate it. 1 piece of first aid kit I carry with me is a SAM splint. Its lightweight, rolls up fairly small, and is under 10$ on amazon.

  5. Yay for free health care!

you could call EMS in the UK from the top of a mountain and they'd fly a helicopter out to you and pick you up and all they expect is a thank you

  6. Ugh, screwed up American medical situation. People more scared of the cost than from potentially dying.

  7. It is really impressive that the most developed and powerful country in the world doesnt have a public healthcare system. Healthcare and education should be #1 priority for any goverment.

  8. I'm so happy to know that Travis is up, about, and out riding his motorcycle again. This is an outstanding video, really makes you think about what you need to do in a medical emergency out in the boonies. I carry a couple of little medical kits, I think I'll add a flexible splint before our next ride – just because.

  9. This is so mad that folks in the US would wait rather than call the emergency services. You wouldn't think twice about calling the ambulance here in the UK regardless where you are. I am so glad we have a National Healthcare Service, and if you require rehab it's also free. Hope your friend is better and hasn't got a bill too big following the incident.

  10. Great info guys, hope all is well with the healing process and you guys get the hell back out there!

  11. I looked a ways back and did not find this info shown. At least in Colorado the search and rescue fees can be covered with a fishing license. If you pay an extra doller while getting your fishing license it covers all of those fees. So one fishing license a year could save you lots O cash.
