Citizen’s Response to Active Threat Training

MUPD CRAT training teaches you what to do if you ever have to deal with active shooter/violent intruder incidents that may occur in the workplace, school, or other public setting. Free pizza will be served.

Safety Walk

The 41st annual Safety Walk is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to identify any structural and environmental safety concerns on campus. Then watch our progress on the MSA website as we address the issues we discovered. Everyone is invited to help us ensure a safe Mizzou!

Check on a friend in need, take a drunk friend’s car keys, do a Green Dot, protect yourself on-line, and develop your own emergency preparedness plan…all of these things and more are great ways to make you and our campus a little bit safer. Be sure to check out the Ready Campus program by FEMA. Enjoy free pizza, T-shirts and first aid kits, while supplies last.

Includes fire extinguisher use training, a fire fighter challenge obstacle course in full gear, information on STRIPES, seat belt safety, crosswalk etiquette and more will be available. At 11:50 a.m., a simulated room burn will demonstrate the speed and ferocity of fire. Free pizza, drinks, and T-shirts while supplies last.

'Safe Passage' Brings Legal Aid to Children Facing Deportation

Growing numbers of undocumented children are facing deportation proceedings in U.S. immigration courts. Some, from Central America, were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border. Others, from Europe or Africa, came to the United States as tourists, but have overstayed their visas. A New York law project works to provide attorneys to these youths in immigration court — where minors facing deportation usually have no advocate.Carolyn Weaver reports.
